Are we all getting enough sleep?

It seems we are sleeping less and less. The reason being that we consider time spent in sleeping as “wasted.” But this is not what this site is going to be about. This is where we will learn all about sleeping, and why you and I need to sleep!

I’ve always had sleeping problems of some kind or the other.

And I’m sure you do too. If you suffer from insomnia or transient insomnia, or chronic insomnia, or if you’re just like that guy from Vietnam who never slept for decades, well then, this site is just for you.

One of the reasons we need to sleep is to avoid getting a sleep debt. According to Wikipedia, sleep debt is the effect of not getting enough rest and sleep. And it goes on to say that scientists are not sure how much sleep debt it is possible to accumulate. Can we afford to risk finding out? There is ample evidence that lack of sleep will cause microsleep, which can lead to extremely dangerous situations, like for example, when you’re driving on the road.

I’ll be updating this site with anything and everything to do with sleep. I will also be covering the methods we can use to lessen our need for sleep. But as normal humans, we all need to sleep. And we can’t really change the fact that sleep is one of the main biological functions – of life itself.
